From The Daniel Smith Catalog by e-mail

This is an example of an extremely simple painting that does a lot with brush stroke.   It is by a woman named Andrea Pramuk and Daniel Smith and Co.  is currently using it in their catalog to promote some of their art products. The simple shapes and the convergence of where the two warm wheat-field values meet create a convincing sense of dimension in the land.  The sky and the little detailed dark bush spots on the horizon are also great cues.  Lastly, the streak of lavender (deftly applied) works very well as the shadow inside of that light titan buff wheat color.  A solid, simple, confident painting.  Good for observing.
